Ready, Set, Christmas: Preparations

We are to prepare for the coming of Christ in two advents.

1. The first advent is the birth of Christ who is born in an insignificant way. There is no fanfare or fireworks .... just a mager in a barn.  We often miss the presence of Christ in our lives because in the words of the Psalmist, we never take time to be still and know that God is God.

2. The second advent is the return of Christ which is affirmed by scripture.  When Christ will return is not known.  Our responsibility is to live in the in-between time, the birth of Chirst and the return of Christ by getting involved in making a difference in people's lives.  God calls us to live as his faithtful people doing for others.
