- Passage: Luke 17:11-19
The story of Jesus interaction with the ten lepers is really our story:
1. Jesus "sees" us as individuals including our needs and concerns about life and responds with compassion. Jesus knows us in the same way the Psalmist described God knowing us in Psalm 139.
2. Jesus' desire is to give direction to our spiritual journey. In this case, Jesus did not heal the lepers immediately. As they went to see the priest, they were healed. God works in our spiritual journey as we trust him to give direction to our lives.
3. When we realize how Jesus knows all about us and wants to give direction to our spiritual journey, then we return over and over to Jesus to express our thanksgiving for his goodness in and through us.
