Sunday, February 21: The Last Supper

Mark 14:12-25

The night before Jesus' death, Jesus and the disciples observed the Feast of the Passover, a time to remember how God had delivered his people from slavery.  Jesus transformed that observance into something new and wonderful.  Discover how a piece of bread and a cup of wine changed everything for them and for us!

Sunday, February 28: The Garden of Gethsemane

Mark 14:32-42

Anyone who does not understood why things happen like they do will find a connection with Jesus in this story of his prayer in the Garden of Gethesame.  Jesus really struggled with God's plan for his life.  Yet, in the midst of the struggle he discovered a way to be faithful.  When we struggle to understand God's plans, this story will change how we pray and respond to God!

Sunday, March 7: Condemned by the Righteous

Mark 14:53-72

Jesus had false charges placed against him by those who wanted his love and forgiveness to end.  He was betrayed by one of his followers, which led to his death by crucifixion.  Those who loved Jesus the most deserted Jesus as Jesus gave his life for them.  This experience challenges us to consider how committed we are to Jesus, and more importantly, to make a commitment to Jesus that will change how we live forever.

Sunday, March 14: Jesus, Barabbas, and Pilate

Mark 15:1-15

It was the custom to release one of the prisoners and erase all charges against them.  When the crowd was given the choice by Pilate between Jesus, who had committed no crime, and Barabbas, who was a murderer, the crowd cried for Barabbas to be released, not Jesus. The people were heavily influenced by a few to make a wrong choice.  When we struggle to move beyond peer pressure to do what is right and stand behind it, our life will change!

Sunday, March 21: The Torture and Humiliation of a King

Mark 15:15-23

Jesus' suffering death and resurrection constitutes a divine drama as a way to communicate God's love to all of us and make clear to us our need for forgiveness and new direction, to show us the full extent of God's love, and to lead us to repentance. When we understand what Jesus did for us, our lives will be changed in dramatic ways!

March 28: The Crucfixion

Mark 15:25-39

The crowd that gathered at the cross where Jesus died included people who were just curious or even indifferent.  But there was a solider who spoke eternal words when Jesus died, "Truly this man was God's son."  Are you willing to say in your heart, "Truly this man was God's son?"  Be careful how you respond .... the response will change your life!

April 4: Christ the Victor

Mark 16:1-6

In spite of all that Jesus endured, God made him the Victor.  The resurrection of Jesus is the proof that everything that Jesus was, everything that Jesus did, everything that Jesus taught is true.  Let the resurrection of Jesus change your life as your embrace Jesus as your Savior and Lord!
