What Visitors Want To Know!

The church has ample parking places. The church has a parking lot on the same lot as the church building. There is additional parking in the lot on the east side of the church across High Street. There is additional parking on two lots on the west side of the church across Franklin Street.
People who park in our church lot or the west lots usually use the north entrance. Enter through the door below the canopy. People who park in the lot across High Street usually use the High Street entrance. Enter through one of the three sets of double doors.
Every person has the freedom to dress in an appropriate style that is comfortable with them Some women wear slacks and tops and men wear slacks and sport shirts. Some women and men wear jeans and an appropriate top. Some people dress more formally with women wearing dresses and men wearing suits
You will be warmly greeted at the door by one of our hosts/hostess. They are willing to direct you to the nursery, the sanctuary, a Sunday School classroom, or even a restroom. Feedback from first-time visitors informs us that first-time visitors can expect a friendly atmosphere before and after the worship service.
We have a coffee bar that includes flavored coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juice and water. There is also a table of light snacks. The Coffee Bar is open from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and is located at the end of the 1st floor hallway.
Our well- equipped nursery is located on the ground floor and is staffed by trained nursery workers. Most of the staff are students at Ball State University majoring in Early Child Development or Elementary Education. We have a personal pager system that can summon you if the nursery staff needs you during the worship service or Sunday school class.
During the 8:30 and the 11:00 worship services we offer Children’s Church for children ages 4 through 3rd grade. The children leave the worship service just before the message and are picked up by the parents following the worship service. One of the pastors will help with Children’s Church. During the 9:45 service, children and youth of all ages can attend an age-level Sunday School class.
Our youth ministry is one of our strongest ministries. The youth have an opportunity to fellowship with other youth, grow in their faith, and learn to serve others through a variety of mission projects. Because of the variety of activities, please check the church calendar for a listing of youth events.
Our Sunday School for children and youth is grouped by age/grade levels. There are five adult classes that use a variety of curriculum materials from Bible studies to contemporary issues.
Handicapped accessibility begins when you park at one of the numerous handicapped places in our parking lot. The church building is totally handicapped accessible through the north door adjacent to the parking lot of the church. There is an elevator inside that door that provides access to all floors of the church.
You will not be asked to publicly introduce yourself during the worship service or any other time. We will not introduce you as a guest during the worship service. You will not be pressured to do anything. We just want you to come and experience the love and joy that is here as we worship together.
You are not expected to give money during our offering time. You are our guest. During the time of the offering, just relax and enjoy the music.
Absolutely! One of our core values is to connect people with God as well as with each other. Our worship services are focused on God’s love and power and offer practical messages that enable persons to live their faith during the week.

Who is High Street Church...

• Here at High Street Church, we are surrounded by the symbols of the past, and we cherish these symbols. They represent the powerful way God has worked among us over the past two centuries.

• But God is not done with us yet! New traditions and symbols are being born in our midst! An exciting community of faith is growing daily on the foundations of our past as we grow in our understanding of how God in Jesus Christ is making all things new. (Revelation 21:5 "See, I am making all things new.")
